THE GENERAL WEATHER PICTURE :

Low pressure located off the North Carolina coast is showing signs of moving more North than East at this time. As a result, the Cape Ann area will experience a greater impact from this system. East to Northeast winds will gradually increase overnight and throughout the day on Wednesday. The closest approach of this storm will occur late in the evening on Wednesday and into Thursday morning. Northeast winds will increase to 20 to 40 m.p.h. with higher gusts by late afternoon on Wednesday. The Low pressure area will move away from the area Thursday afternoon, as winds begin to diminish.

Any further changes in the expected track of this system will be updated by Wednesday morning.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, with East-Northeast winds increasing to 15 to 25 m.p.h. by morning. Low temps's 22 to 26.

WEDNESDAY: Cloudy with light snow developing after 3:00 p.m. Northeast winds increasing to 20 to 30 m.ph. with higher gusts. High temp's 30 to 34.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Snow mixing with sleet at times. Northeast winds 20 to 40 m.p.h. with higher gusts at the immediate coast. Low temp's 28 to 32.

THURSDAY: Snow ending in the morning, winds shifting into the North-Northwest and diminishing in the afternoon. High temp's 33 to 37, with 3 to 5 inches of accumulation expected.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy early, increasing clouds overnight. Low temp's 24 to 28.

FRIDAY: Cloudy with light snow developing by early afternoon. High temp's 30 to 34, with 2 inches of accumulation expected.
